A note on Kd:  the Stryer text has a description on pg. 1030, of which the salient part is that "the dissociation constant [Kd] is a measure of the strength of the interaction between the drug candidate and the target." But in your homework problems, Dr. Cornely is using Kd to refer to the strength of the attraction of enzyme for substrate.
