Rethinking the Introductory Art History Survey: A Practical, Somewhat Theoretical, and Inspirational Guide

Midterm exam (15%) – Slide identification and short essay exam. You will be asked to identify 8 pairs of images (or at least 16 images) giving name, date and production locations and current location if it is significant to the work’s history (For example you should be aware of the fact that the much of the frieze of the Parthenon is now located in the British Museum in London and not in Athens). In addition, there will be at least one essay question.

Final exam (15%) – much like the midterm exam but longer, likely you will be expected to identify 20 images and write three essays.
