The link is the basic DNA of the Web. There is a skill to making good links.

  1. Visit a few of your favorite websites right now. What are their links like? What words are linked? What is not linked. Do you see any links with "http" or "www" in them? Most good links are descriptive. Descriptive links are links that use words that describe where the link will take you. "Click Here" is not a descriptive link! It does not describe were you will be taken.
  2. Example of a descriptive link to the famous blog BoingBoing.
  3. Check ALL the links on your page. Are they descriptive? Are the consistent?
