At the successful completion of the course, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Improved ability to articulate your body and to access itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s strength and flexibility for movement
- A physical understanding of principles of modern dance including: dynamic alignment, muscular efficiency, weight, momentum, balance/off-balance, extension, contraction, etc.
- Increased comfort in learning movement sequences and moving your body fully in space
- An appreciation of the history of modern dance and how modern dance technique relates to modern dance choreography and improvisation
