Poems in Two Voices

Read the following poems with particular attention to the dynamics of the two voices: how do the voices relate to each other? do the two voices resolve anything? If so what and where? We will read these as "parts," so you'll want to think about them from both perspectives, but be prepared to talk to your "other" about how you think he or she should respond to "your" voice.

Robert Frost, "Home Burial" (85)
Randall Jarrell, "Protocols" (716)
Dudley Randall, "Ballad of Birmingham" (731)

The assignment for Thursday will presume that you have your poem for memorization chosen, but only a few of you have posted in the Memorization Portal.
