Response Two: Historical Recipe Analysis

One of the major sources of information we have about the cuisine of earlier cultures comes from. Take a recipe from the many links below and write a 1-2 page response about what that recipe tells you about the cuisine of the time. Some questions you might want to consider (by no means an exhaustive list):
What is the flavor profile? Does the recipe have a conscious philosophical underpinning? What ingredients are involved and how easy would they have been to acquire?

A literary description of a meal might also be considered.
